Rosella Mildred Dixon (née LaVangie) September 01, 1908 - January 18, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) DIXON, Rosella Mildred - 96, Parkstone Enhanced Care, Halifax, passed away January 18, 2005, at home, where she was a resident of the past two years. Born in Walkerville, Richmond Co., she was a daughter of the late Placide and Elizabeth (Scanlon) Levangie. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was devoted to her faith and taught for 35 years in various areas of Nova Scotia, including Mushaboom, White Point, where she was a post mistress and Dingwall. She moved to Dartmouth after her retirement. Surviving are her sons, Bernie (Selina), Lower Sackville; Eugene (Betty), Dartmouth; Francis (Joan), Newfoundland; daughter, Carol Ann Dixon (Jim Shannon), Havre Boucher; grandchildren, Bernard, Tracy, Paul (Louise) Dixon, Kim (Jake) Grimes, Colleen (Darren) Hirtle, Stephanie Dixon, Paul (Jody), Christopher, Andrew Dixon, Christopher, James, Janet, Meghan Shannon, great-grandchildren, Ashley Dixon and Dixon Grimes. She was predeceased by her husband, John Jellico Dixon; son, Patrick; brothers, Ernest and Bernard; sisters, Alfreda, Ida, Emma, Mary, Alice, and Gerthrude. Family flowers only. Funeral mass will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Main Street, Dartmouth, Father Irek Bem officiating. A reception will follow in the church.
