James "Bunny" Duffy 1926-2005 James Duffy, 78, of Watson Avenue, Moncton, passed away unexpectedly at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, January 20, 2005. Born in Harvey, NB, on September 26, 1926, he was the son of the late Basil Samson and Reta (Bruster) Duffy. James retired from Canadian Longyear Ltd., following 27 years of service, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and listening to gospel music. Bunny is survived by his son, Michael (Wendy) of Moncton; his daughter Virginia Gallagher (Wayne) of Moncton, sisters; Ruby Morrisey, Ruth Welford (Phillip), Ethel Ries (Roy), Eva Weir, Mary Tingley (Cyril); grandchildren, Troy Duffy, Tabatha Mercure (Kevin) and Laura Cormier (Danny); great grandchildren; Cody, Samantha, Jara-Lynne, Matthew C., and Matthew M. He was predeceased by his wife Kathleen; as well as a sister, Helena Kennie. The family will receive friends at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 25 from 3:00-6:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 26 at 2:00 PM at the Hopewell Hill Baptist Church, 5304 Route 114 Hopewell Hill, followed by a reception in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
