Michael "Jim" James Purtell December 12, 1911 - January 22, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Gordon F Tompkins Funeral Homes (Central Chapel) Purtell, Michael James "Jim" Peacefully, at Fairmount Home, on Saturday, January 22, 2005, in his 94th year. Beloved husband of the late Alice Corrigan. Loving father of Christina (Ted) Kennedy of Sydenham and Michelle (Walter) Romatowski of St. Catherines. Son of the late James Vincent and Mary Elizabeth Purtell. Dear Papa of Frank (Kim), Michael (Dee Ann), Teddy (Barbara Ellen), Colin (Della), Stephen (Tara) Kennedy and Jennifer, Nicholas, Kathleen, and Michael Romatowski, and 12 great grandchildren. Dear brother of the late John, Ted, and Martin Purtell, Marg Cornish and Katie Eves. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Jim was a proud W.W. II Veteran, retired Vice President of Davis Leather, Past President of the Kingston Lions Club and Honourary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus. Friends will be received at the Central Chapel of Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Homes, 49 Colborne Street (At Clergy Street) on Friday, January 28, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 88 Patrick Street, Kingston, on Saturday at 11 a.m. rite of Committal St. Mary's Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the C.N.I.B or the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated by the family.
