GRANT, Ronald Davidson November 18, 1909-January 8, 2005 On Saturday January the 8th at the age of 95, Ron fell asleep, quietly, knowing his loving family were close by - he sadly leaves behind his beloved wife of 63 years, Elisabeth (nee Gussow), known to her friends as Lee; his cherished children Melanie (Alan), Jennifer (Gregg), Cathrin and James; his six grandchildren Christopher (Wendy), Lisa, Jeffrey, Lindsay, Michea and Kaslyn; and his two great-grandchildren Hans and Tyler. He will be fondly remembered by his one remaining sibling, Gwenyth Fenton. Ron worked 45 years at Met Life; he was an honourable Lion for 55 years; spent 4 years with the Cameron Highlanders overseas in WWII and was a firm and loyal member of the Wakefield Legion (Branch 214). There will be a celebration of Ron's life at the McGarry Memorial Chapel, 139 Valley Drive, Wakefield, Quebec on Saturday, January 15th from 3-7 p.m. The family would like to thank the people of the CLSC who cared for him before he went to the hospital and our deepest gratitude goes out to all of the wonderful and loving staff at the Gatineau Memorial Hospital. Ron will be greatly missed by his friends, family and neighbours who believe he was the kindest most wonderful person they had ever met.
