Willa MURDOCH

McGIBBON, Willa (nee Murdoch). Peacefully and surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 16, 2005 at the Elisabeth Bruyere Hospital, Ottawa, Ontario following a short and courageous battle with cancer. Resident of Lachute, Quebec and formerly Town of Mount Royal, Montreal, Quebec. Beloved wife and best friend of Gordon McGibbon. Loving mother of Blair (Liz MacLeod) of Toronto, Ontario and Gayle (Peter Scrivens) of Ottawa, Ontario. Proud grandmother of William Scrivens. Also survived by her sisters Frances Watson (Bev) of Ottawa, Ontario and Marlene Masleck (Ron) of Toronto, Ontario. Willa was an active participant in life. She will be remembered fondly for her incredibly generous spirit, sense of compassion and endless support of family and friends. She will be sadly missed. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Margaret Rodger Memorial Presbyterian Church, 463 rue Principale, Lachute, Que. Visitation will be held at the church from 1 p.m. until time of service. Private interment at the Lachute Protestant Cemetery. The family wishes to acknowledge the many nurses and doctors within the Ottawa Hospital Campus and the Elisabeth Bruyere Hospital for their dedication and professional care and also to Ms. Debbie Elliston who has been her faithful caregiver and companion over the past several months.
