Hein VOLKER

VOLKER, Hein. 1918-2005. We announce with great sadness the death of Hein Volker on January 8, 2005, at eighty-six years of age, after a courageously fought illness. Hein, an aeronautical engineer, aviation historian and enthusiast, was at the controls of his own approach, descent and hard-won landing. He is survived by his wife, Elisabeth Volker -Trijtel, his daughter Francine and his son Philip, as well as his family and friends in Canada, the U.S., Holland, England and Australia. The family would like to thank the exceptional staff of 1 East at Vigi Sante, D.D.O. for their two years of concern and compassion. A commemorative service will be held at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Boulevard Des Sources, Dollard des Ormeaux, (514) 685-3344 on Friday, January 14, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Hein's memory may be made to the Parkinson Society of Canada or the Canadian Aviation Heritage Centre at 514-398-7948 or 514-626-6921.
