Betty BESSER

BRODIE, Betty (nee Besser). Peacefully, in her one hundred and first year, on Monday, January 24, 2005. Wife of the late Maurice Brodie. Beloved sister and sister-in-law of Jean and the late Jack Nissim of California. Elsie and the late Harold Besser, the late Hilda and the late Peter S. Wise, the late Philip W. and Ruthie Besser of New York, the late Ben G. and Ruth Besser of California, the late Louis and the late Rosetta Brodie. Adoring aunt of Richard and Lissa Wise, Dr. Jack Wise and Dr. Linda Riven, Ronald Wise and Regina Konarsky; Marilyn (Marnie) Besser of Vancouver, Sherill Besser and Morris Rosenberg of Ottawa; Stephen Besser, Bonnie and Steve Schwimmer, Abby Dee Besser and Ron, Stuart Besser and Janice Reynolds, Jane Besser, all of California; Irwin and Estelle Brodie. Betty will be sadly missed by her many grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews whom she adored so much. An exemplary community volunteer, she tirelessly devoted much of her time to the well-being of those in need. Special thanks to her caregivers Isobel and Linda, and to the staff of the 4th Floor at the Mount Sinai Hospital for their care and devotion.
