Jessie Mae Landry November 21, 1924 - January 23, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Campbell's Funeral Home Jessie Mae Landry age 80, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2005 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Center, Upper Nappan, N.S. Born in Minto, N.B. she was a daughter of the late Jack and Jessie (Ripley) Rector. Jessie and her late husband Hermie owned and operated several businesses in Amherst, Kentville and Truro such as Highland Grocery on Park St. Amherst, Tanny's Taxi and Border Motel in Amherst, Sun Valley Motel in Kentville and Willow Bend Motel in Truro, they retired from the Victorian Motel in Amherst in 1974. She is survived by her daughter Marilyn (Allan) Hartry of Ottawa, Ontario and her son Hermie (Pat) Landry of Amherst, one sister Eva Poplar of River Hebert, several grandchildren, one grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Jessie was predeceased by her husband Hermie, daughter Joan Cameron, brother John and sisters Lonce MacAloney and Marcella Herwell. Cremation has taken place. Her family will receive visitors at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2005 at 2 p.m. from Campbell's Chapel with Rev. Danny Compton officiating. Interment will take place in the spring in the Maccan Cemetery.
