Alvah Lawrence Larsen PORT ELGIN, NB - The death of Lawrence Larsen, age 85, occurred on Sunday, January 23, 2005 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. Born in Port Elgin, on September 22,1919, Lawrence was the son of the late Mary (Duguay) and John Larsen. Lawrence was a carpenter and plumber for most of his life. He worked for several employers before beginning his own plumbing and heating business, from which he retired in 1985. He enjoyed sports (particularly hockey and boxing), swimming, skating, driving his skidoo, four wheeler and woodworking. He loved to travel, whether it was by land, sea or air. A loving and caring husband, father, grampie, brother, uncle and friend. Lawrence will be extremely missed by his daughters, Sherry (Malcolm) Trenholm, Belleville, ON, Linda (John) Oulton and Deborah (Richard) LeBlanc, both of Baie Verte, NB, Susan (Stephen) Legere, Amherst, NS and Shannon (Don Love) Larsen, Markham, ON; 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. The last surviving member of his immediate family, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Thelma, (2001); brothers, George (1927) and Ronald, (2003); parents John and Mary and granddaughter, Lisa Oulton (1969). His remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, Port Elgin with visiting hours Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at 2PM with Rev. Jay Ettinger officiating. Burial in the Fernwood Cemetery in the spring.
