BURDEN, PEARLE DARRAH REED It is with great sadness the family announce the death of Pearle Derrah Reed Burden, age 91, of Fredericton, which took place January 24, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Survived by her daughter Betty Lou (Dell) Bracken and her son John (Janie Lee) Reed; also survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Eva (Barton) Darrah; a sister Sadie Darrah Barr; her first husband and the father of her children, W. Lewis Reed; her second husband Edward (Ted) Burden; sons Archie, Kenneth and Percy Reed and baby daughter Shirley Ann. She was a member of the Brunswick Street United Baptist Church, life member and past president of the Seniors United Baptist Women's Missionary Union, a life member of the Kingsclear Women's Institute, secretary and member of Kings Daughters and Sons (Seekers Circle) and a member of the Christian Womens Club. She was an avid quilter, receiving many awards over the years and belonged to the Quilting Group at Brunswick Street Baptist Church. Born in Newcastle Bridge, NB she lived many years in Jewett Mills and Springfield before moving to Fredericton. Pearle was widowed at mid life and left to raise her two youngest sons. She will be missed by her family and many friends. A funeral service will be held at Brunswick Street United Baptist Church on Saturday January 29, 2005 at 11:00 am with Rev. Ralph Irving officiating, assisted by Rev. Donald McCarty, followed by a reception.
