Joseph Alcide Cormier (1917-2005) RICHIBUCTO, NB - Joseph Alcide Cormier, 88, husband of Alice (Daigle) Cormier, of Richibucto, NB, passed away suddenly at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste. Anne de Kent, on Thursday, January 27, 2005. Born in Richibucto, NB he was the son of the late Jean-Baptiste Cormier and the late Marie-Rose (Robichaud) Cormier. He was retired, Alcide had been employed with NB Liquor Control Board as an Auditor and had also operated the Richibucto Dairy Bar. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 30, Richibucto. He served overseas during WWII as an aircraft mechanic with 402 Red Indian Squadron, R.C.A.F. Alcide is survived by his wife, Alice; one daughter, Geraldine Cormier-Caux (Gilbert) of Bathurst; one son, Harry (Louise Daigle) of Richibucto; four grandchildren, Emily, Jesse, Daniel, Melanie; two step grandchildren, Christine, Michel. Alcide was predeceased by a sister, Nelida; two brothers, Harry and Emile. Resting at Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto with visitation on Saturday from 7 to 9 PM, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and Monday from 9:00 AM until time of funeral. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Louis de Gonzague Roman Catholic Church, Richibucto on Monday, January 31, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in Aldouane Roman Catholic Cemetery.
