Eva M. Hicks MCKEES MILLS, NB - Eva M. Hicks, 95, of McKees Mills surrounded by family passed away at her residence on Thursday, January 27, 2005. Born in West Branch, she was the daughter of the late Smith and May (MacLeod) Morton. Eva was a former school teacher, having taught four years in New Brunswick and was a former registered nurse, having worked in Ottawa. She was a member of Zion United Church (McKees Mills) and the Ladies Aid of the Church. She was a graduate of Ottawa Civic Hospital School of Nursing and a member of the NB Retired Teacher's Association and the Ottawa Civic Hospital Alumni. She enjoyed mat hooking, cooking, working in her garden, Genealogy and was the editor of memories of McKees Mills. Eva will be sadly missed by her sons, Dwayne (Eileen), McKees Mills, Ron (Shirley), Moncton; grandchildren, David, Kevin, Kim (Vincent), Adam and Tyler; great grandchildren, Devan, Joeleen; sisters, Mildred Girvan, Kincardine, Bertha Morton, Maugerville, Laura MacLean, Miramichi, Edna Palmer, Moncton; brother, Charles Morton, Ford Bank; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Russell J. Hicks (2002); brothers, Earl, Lloyd, Carmen; sisters, Marion, Ruby. Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd. Moncton (858-1995), Sunday 7 to 9. Funeral Service at McKees Mills Baptist Church, Monday, January 31, 2005, 2pm, Betty Jean Friedman officiating. Reception in the church hall following the service.
