Kenneth Wesley HOWE

HOWE, KENNETH WESLEY - Kenneth Wesley Howe, 80, of Grand Pré, Kings County, NS. It is with sadness that the family of Ken Howe announces his passing on January 26, 2005 at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Avonmore, NB on December 31, 1924, Ken was the only son of the late G. Wesley Howe and Ava (Fenwick) Howe. A graduate of Sussex High School and the Nova Scotia Agricultural College, Ken worked as a salesman for Canada Packers Shur-Gain Division, Port Williams, NS beginning in 1950. Ken transferred in 1973 to the Calgary Division of Canada Packers, retiring from this position in 1990. In his retirement, Ken enjoyed working as a real estate agent for Royal LePage in Airdrie, Alberta. Deciding to return to Nova Scotia in 1995, Ken has lived in Grand Pré since then. Besides spending time with his family and working, Ken enjoyed gardening, politics, painting and volunteering. He was a founding member of the Kentville and Horton Masonic Lodges. When his children were young, Ken was a cub master for the 4th Kentville Wolf Cup Pack. He earned his Guildwell Cord, scouting's highest award, with great pride. He will always be remembered as a man deeply devoted to his family and friends. With his caring heart, he was constantly surrounded by people. He will be missed greatly by countless friends and loved ones. Surviving are four sons; Robert (Nairn), Salt Spring Island, BC, John (Marilyn), Quispamsis, NB, Wallace (Dianne), Dartmouth, NS, Scott (Catherine), Salt Spring Island, BC, two daughters; Suzanne Warr (Robert), Yeovil, England and Heather Howe (Scott Webber), Vancouver, eight grandchildren; Kathryn, Meaghan, Sarah Amy, Christopher, Clare, Sarah Beth, Sebastian and Nicholas Howe. Visitation will be held from 7 - 9 pm. Sunday, January 30, 2005 with a Masonic Tribute to be held at 7:00 pm. in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, NS, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 am. Monday, January 31, 2005, Reverend Doctor Randy Crozsman officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in the Kiersteadville United Baptist Church Cemetery, Kiersteadville, NB. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital - Cardiac Care Unit, Kentville, the United Church of St. Paul and St. Stephen, Kentville, or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville.
