Richard Hannah, 87 Richard G. "Dick" Hannah, 87, died January 2 after a yearlong struggle with bone cancer. He was born in Saskatchewan on February 8, 1917 to John Hannah and his wife, the former Harriet Lancaster. He married Elizabeth MacGregor on February 18, 1937. They were married 36 years at the time of her death in 1973. He lived in Brockville and owned the Hostess Home Bakery for 12 years. He enjoyed baking and continued baking for his family until his illness. He had baked and decorated his grandsons' wedding cakes. He also had a green thumb. His gardens were a joy for him to putter about in from early spring to late fall. He enjoyed his trips to Sarnia, Sudbury and Brockville, where he loved walking around Blockhouse Island. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Hannah, whom he married on September 1, 2002, in Chatham. Also surviving are his two daughters, Beth and husband Harold Brayton of Sarnia and Gail Easton of Brockville; grandchildren Rick Brayton and wife Deb of West Lorne and G. Scot Easton and wife Heather of Brockville; and great-grandchildren Rebekah, Carson and Liam Brayton and Damian and Harley Easton. He is survived as well by his sisters Roslynne Goodwin of Vancouver and Mary Mills of North Bay, sister-in-law Hazel Hannah of Moose Jaw and several nieces and nephews. Besides his first wife, he was predeceased by his parents, sister Betty, brothers Alec and Jim, and son-in-law Edward Easton. A private service was held in Chatham and burial was at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham, on January 4, 2005. Memorial donations were directed to the Canadian Cancer Society, St. Paul's Anglican Church in Brockville and any children's organization.
