Albertina MORAND

CORNELL, Albertina (Morand) Peacefully at Hay Bay Retirement Home on Saturday, January 29, 2005 in her 91st year. Predeceased by her husband Ernest Edward Cornell in 1981. Survived by daughter, Pamela Ann Cornell, of Kingston and granddaughter Anthea Mary Jackson (Matt Ward) of New York City. Born July 17, 1914 in London, England, she was the daughter of the late Sigmund and Rosalia (Kissling) Morand, from Nuglar - St. Pantaleon, Switzerland. Bertie came to Canada as a war bride in 1945 and live d most of her life in Morrisburg, Ontario, where she received a special award for her volunteer contributions as a Brownie and Girl Guide leader, a member of two choirs, a teaching assistant at St. Mary's separate School, and general all-round friend ly, helpful person. She moved to Kingston to live with her daughter in 1993, and into a retirement home in 2000. A tree-planting and celebration of her life will take place in the spring.
