James Herbert SHINN

James Herbert Shinn February 23, 1920 - January 28, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Leyden's Funeral Home (Calgary) James Herbert Shinn, beloved husband of Barbara Shinn, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 28, 2005 at the age of 84 years. He was born on February 23, 1920 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Jim will be missed by his children: Jimmy (Karen) Shinn, Gary (Debbie) Laing, Debra Laing and Barbara (Bruce) Turner; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. James will also be missed by his siblings: George (Edie) Shinn and June Baswick, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Armed Forces, serving his country in World War II and the Korean War. He retired from the PPCLI in 1970, after 30 years of service. In his retirement, James volunteered at the Museum of the Regiments. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Funeral Services will be held at Leyden's Funeral Home, "Chapel of Remembrance" ,304 - 18 Avenue SW, (on the corner of 17 Avenue and 2 Street SW), on Friday, February 4, 2005 at 1:00 p.m.
