Earl Levi Gates September 16, 1929 - February 01, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) GATES, Earl Levi - 75, Dartmouth, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2005, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Allan and Dorothy (Edwards) Gaetz. Earl had been employed with the Canadian Coast Guard for 33 years before his retirement. Surviving are his wife, Jean; sons, Earl (Tracy), Lawrencetown; Mark, Dartmouth; Michael, at home; grandchildren, Kandace and Ryen; brother, Clifford (Barb) Gaetz, Dartmouth; sister, Pearl (Ed) St. Amour, Ottawa; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Alfred; sisters, Gloria and Ethel. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today with funeral service 2 p.m. Thursday, February 3, both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, Rev. James Haughn officiating. Burial will follow in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow the interment in Atlantic Funeral Home Family Reception Centre.
