Dorothy "Dolly" Mae Hanson July 09, 1920 - February 02, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) HANSON, Dorothy Mae "Dolly" - 84, Dartmouth. It is with great sadness that we, the family announce the passing of a mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother, in Dartmouth General Hospital on Wednesday, February 2, 2005. Born in Milton, July 9, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Maria (Townsend) Carver. Dolly was the middle child in a family of 13. During her lifetime she resided in Woodside, Halifax, Middle LaHave, Augusta, Maine and Dartmouth. Dolly was a 19 year member of Topaz Rebekah Lodge No. 125, IOOF, and served in several appointed offices during her time as a Rebekah. She enjoyed playing cards, knitting and crocheting. She is survived by daughter, N. Patricia "Pat" (Lloyd) Murchy, Middle Musquodoboit; son, Dale St. Clair (Bunnie) Hanson, Kelowna, B.C.; grandchildren, Chris, Wendy, Eric, and Sonja; great-grandchildren, Virginia, Ryan, Sarah, Ryan, and Brandon; sisters, Kay DeLong, Bridgewater; Beatrice Gallant, Milton; brothers, Douglas Carver, Hammonds Plains; Maurice "Buddy" Carver, Milton; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman W. Hanson; sisters, Hilda Marie Dorey, Annie Carver, Edith Rosetta Penny, and Deanie Lowe; brothers, Bennie, Henry, Sammy, and Jim. Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Saturday with Rebekah service at 7 p.m. and funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Rev. Wendy Murchy officiating, reception to follow, all in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Burial in Augusta, Me., at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses or Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to thank the home care workers, VON, doctors and nurses at Dartmouth General Hospital for the wonderful care given to our mom during her illness. "We can remember her and only that she's gone or we can cherish her memory and let it live on."
