BERTOTHY, Julius, With thanksgiving for his life, the family of Julius Bertothy announce his passing. He succumbed peacefully on Wednesday, February 9, 2005, at the Welland Hospital, at the age of 78. Julius was predeceased by his wife Rita Therese (Lortie) (2003), his parents Gyula and Erszebet Bertothy, and his sister Martha Bertothy (1998). Dear father of Dr. Christine Bertothy and her husband Ross McLean, and Dr. Michele Bertothy and her husband Jean Lauzon. Loving grandfather of Margo, Mel anie and William. Uncle of Johanne, Marc and Luc Lortie. Mr. Bertothy retired from the Haldimand-Norfolk Board of Education after teaching at the secondary level for twenty-two years. He was a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Franc is of Assisi Council 2146 and a Fourth Degree member of Fr. Faustus A. McKenna Council 0873. The family will receive their friends at J.J. PATTERSON & SONS FUNERAL RESIDENCE, 19 Young Street, Welland on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil will be co nducted at 7 p.m. followed by Knights of Columbus Bible Devotions. The Funeral Mass will be concelebrated by Rev. Laszlo Miskei and Rev. Nicholas Deak at Our Lady of Hungary Roman Catholic Church on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Rite of Committal at Holy Cr oss Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Hungary Parish Memorial Fund or The Diabetes Association.
