Sandra PEGOLO

SMITH (nee Pegolo), Sandra, Sandra died on February 3, 2005 with her two daughters, Lauren and Sarah, and her husband Paul at her side. She is also survived by her parents, Francesco and Giannina Pegolo of St. Catharines, Ont., her sister Anna Lisa (nee Pegolo) Lincoln who lives in Strongsville, Ohio, and many relatives residing in Toronto and in Italy. Sandra was born on June 26, 1955 in St. Catharines, graduated from Denis Morris High School, and attended the University of Toronto where she c ompleted a degree in Physical Therapy. Sandra pursued her career while raising their daughters in the various cities they called home: London, Toronto, Halifax, Toronto again and finally, Vancouver (South Surrey). In 1997, Sandra joined the world's f irst dragon boat team for breast cancer survivors, Abreast In a Boat, as an extremely competent paddler and worked tirelessly for the AIAB Society throughout her illness. Among all of Sandra's incredible accomplishments she was most proud of her daug hters who are working hard at completing their university studies and now advocating in the fight against breast cancer. In lieu of flowers, donations are graciously accepted in support of Lauren & Sarah's 60 km "Weekend to End Breast Cancer" walk.
