RICE, Alan D., Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington. Dr. Alan D. Rice of Burlington, formerly of Fonthill, in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Jean Rice (2003) and loving father of Gordon Rice and his wife Reta of Waterloo, Barry Rice and his wife Jenefer of Nelson BC., Michael Rice and his wife Margaret of Fonthill, Peter Rice and his wife Jean of Burlington and predeceased by his son Ronald. Dear father-in-law of Lydia Ric e of Oakville. Also loved by his grandchildren Valerie and her husband Brian, Alan and his wife Anne, Carolyn and her husband John, Susanne and her husband Kevin, Vanessa and her husband Yann, Danica and her husband Cameron, Nikki and her husband Tob y, Catherine and her husband James, Laura and her husband Rick, Beverly and her husband Sean and Heather and her husband Craig, and his 18 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his sisters Margaret Holden and Isobel Barron. Dr. Rice was a well known an d respected Physician in the Welland area for over 46 years and was the Plant Physician for several industries in the area including Atlas Steels and General Tire and Rubber. Friends will be received by the family on Saturday, January 29th at the JAM ES L. PEDLAR FUNERAL HOME-DIXON CHAPEL, 1292 Pelham Street, Fonthill from 1:00- 2:30 p.m followed by a private family funeral service being conducted in the chapel with Reverend George Schmidt officiating.
