Geoffrey Arthur Roberts February 08, 1931 - February 05, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) ROBERTS, Geoffrey Arthur - 73, Dartmouth, passed away February 5, 2005, in QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Porth, Wales, on February 8, 1931, he was a son of the late Morgan and Mable (Ransom) Roberts. Geoffrey came to Canada in 1951 on the Queen Mary. He then worked for Fairy Aviation. He sailed on various ships then went to work in the Bedford Magazine, before returning to the sea. He retired from DND in 1996 at the age of 64. He managed the concessions at Bedford Yacht Club for several years. Geoffrey enjoyed playing darts and bingo. He was a friend to all who knew him, and will be remembered for his sense of humour and zest for life. He is survived by his wife, Rachel (Smith); sons, Arnold, Geoffrey, Barry, Wayne Roberts, all of Dartmouth; daughter, Charmaine (Dave) Dunn, Dartmouth; stepsons, Robert (Bonnie) Foster, Port LaTour, Joey (Sue) Foster, Port LaTour; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; sister, Beryl Winup, England; brothers, Kenneth and Eric Roberts, Philadelphia; John Roberts, California; Vivian Roberts, Washington. He was predeceased by great-granddaughter, Faith; brother, Reginald. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., funeral service Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. with a reception to follow, all in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Cremation will follow.
