Ronald Rusnak Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, Ron passed away at the Grace Hospital on Friday, February 4, 2005 at the age of 52 years. He is survived by wife Maureen (nee Stephen), and son’s Bradley and Jeffrey. Siblings Dorothy (Herb) McPherson, Orton, ON; Fred (Wendy), Elmvale, ON; Walter (Jan), Toronto, ON; Nick (Joan), Winnipeg, MB; Mike (Karen), Kitchener, ON; Carol (Ed) Strecker, Portage La Prairie, MB; Diane Gleeson, Edmonton, AB; Marilyn Johnson, Grande Prairie, AB; Nancy Mehkary, Winnipeg, MB; and many nieces and nephews also survive him. He was predeceased by parents Robert and Mary Rusnak, and brother John. Ron was born in Portage La Prairie, MB, and moved to Thompson at the age of 17, where he lived for 14 years. The family then moved to Winnipeg, where Ron owned and operated his own painting and decorating company. His many hobbies included camping, fishing, cross-country snowmobiling, woodworking, winemaking, and bowling. Ron was a 9 year member of Kinsmen, and recognized as Master Kinsmen in 1986. He was also a current member of the ANAF Unit 283 in Winnipeg. The family would like to thank Dr. P. Harris and all the Grace Hospital Cancer Care nurses for their strong showing of care and support throughout his battle. A memorial service will be held at The Bridge Church, 3421 Portage Ave W. (SW corner of Portage Ave. W and Perimeter Hwy) at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2005. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, ON1160-675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9
