Jean Olive Saunders (née Swinamer) April 07, 1947 - February 11, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Lower Sackville) SAUNDERS (Swinamer), Jean Olive - 57, Sackville, passed away peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit of the VG Site, QEII, on February 11, 2005. Born April 7, 1947 in Three Mile Plains, she was a daughter of Olive (O'Leary) of Waterville and the late Reginald Swinamer. A devoted wife to Clyde for 40 years and mother to Sherri (Jason Mills), Michael, Lorri (Scott Bower), Jamie (Angela Hosking) and Alanna (Mark Hughes), all of Sackville. She will be sadly missed. Her legacy of love lives on in her grandchildren, Kyle, Cody, Tammy, Bria, Hayley, Kelsey, Kenydi and Jordan. She is survived by sisters, Judy and Marjorie, Waterville; brother, Keith (Bev Lively), Sackville. She was predeceased by her brother, Bryant (Pam Thompson). Jean was a courageous woman whose wit, compassion and concern touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a tireless volunteer who, through the years, devoted her time to many causes, in particular, the Canadian Cancer Society and Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. She had a passion for her genealogy and her many hours of research and collection are her legacy to her large extended family. Visitation will be from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Monday in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. John the Evangelist Church, Old Sackville Road, Archdeacon Ron Cutler officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Private family burial. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the VG Site, QEII.
