Sterling Gross TAYLOR

TAYLOR, STERLING GROSS The death of Sterling Gross Taylor husband of the late Jean (Patterson) Taylor occurred on Sunday February 13, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Moncton, NB he was the son of the late Everett and Ella May (West) Taylor. Sterling served his country in the Canadian Army during World War II, Korean Conflict and also served with the United Nations in Cyprus and Egypt. Upon his retirement from the Army he was employed with the Department of Labour (Provincial Civil Service). His interests included being a Board member with CNIB, past president of the Nashwaaksis Lions Club, past secretary of the Lincoln Lions Club, member of the Atlantic Korean Veterans Association Unit # 3 and member of the RCR Association. He is survived by two daughters Sharon (Melvin) Harris of Sussex, NB and Peggy (Robert) Willis of Keswick, NB; two sons Sterling R. (Anne) Taylor of Ottawa, ON and William (Heather) Taylor of Woodstock, NB; sixteen grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren; two sisters Ella (Tom) Lafort of Fredericton, NB and Edna Knowlton of Vancouver, BC; one brother Everett ( Merle) Taylor of Woodstock, ON and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents he was predeceased by two brothers Edgar and Roy Taylor and one Great Grandson Christian. There will be no visitation by request. A Memorial Service will be held at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday Feb. 15th at 1 PM with Pastor Jonathan McKay officiating. Interment will take place in the Scotch Settlement Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish remembrances made to the CNIB or The Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.
