Mr. Gordon Vacheresse December 16, 1922 - February 13, 2005 Funeral arrangements by V J McGilivray Funeral Homes (Glace Bay) GORDON VACHERESSE 1922 – 2005 GLACE BAY It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gordon Vacheresse age 82 of Glace Bay and formerly of New Aberdeen. Gordon passed away Sunday, February 13, 2005 at the Glace Bay Health Care Complex. Born in Glace Bay he was the son of the late Jack and Florence (MacGregor) Vacheresse. Gordon was a member of Warden United Church, Glace Bay. He was employed with the Town of Glace Bay retiring after several years of service. He was a member of the Glace Bay Community Hockey Clinic. Gordon was an avid sportsman. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Pat (Maloney) Wilkinson, daughter, Carol (Gordon) Sheriff, Albert Bridge, sons, Rick (Avis) Vacheresse, Dutch Settlement, Skip Wilkinson, Medicine Hat, Tim (Anne) Wilkinson, Gardiner Mines, Gary (Brenda) Wilkinson, Nictaux Falls, N.S., sister, Annie Redmond, Glace Bay, daughter-in-law, Belinda Vacheresse, Glace Bay, brother-in-law, John MacKinnon, Marion Bridge, 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sons, Dennis Vacheresse, Allan Wilkinson, brothers, Hal, Ralph, Blair, Jim, Roland, sisters, Jean MacKinnon, Florence Lighter, Kathleen MacKillop. Visitation for Mr. Vacheresse will be held Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Warden United Church, Glace Bay. Rev. Laurie MacCuish will be officiating. Cremation will follow. Interment will be at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney. No flowers by request. Donations in Gordon’s memory may be made to Warden United Church.
