Marie Dorothy Hansen December 02, 1931 - February 13, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) HANSEN, Marie Dorothy - Halifax, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2005, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Cape Breton, she was a daughter of the late John and Annie (Morvan) Hansen. Marie worked for many years with the Nova Scotia Light and Power Company as secretary to the president. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Parish for more than 40 years. She loved traveling and traveled extensively with her sister, Nora and their friend, Constance McKenna. She was also a beautiful dancer, a pastime she greatly enjoyed. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Surviving are sister, Nora Granter; brothers, Gerald (Doris) and Edward (Joan); sister-in-law, Martha; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by brothers, Walter, William, Raymond, and Fred. Arrangements entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax, where visitation will be held today from 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, February 16, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Parish, Halifax, by Father Robert Floyd. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Liver Foundation, Halifax Chapter.
