BUCHANAN, MAVIS JOYCE The death of Mavis Joyce Buchanan occurred on Thursday, February 17, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born on July 16, 1944 in Carroll's Crossing, NB. She is the wife of Richard "Dick" Buchanan. Mavis enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren which were her pride and joy. Mavis is survived by her husband; son Brent (Rosie) Buchanan of Fredericton; her daughter Angela (Shawn) Murphy of Fredericton and two grandchildren Emma Rose Buchanan and Anthony Michael Murphy. Mavis was predeceased by her parents Carl Wade and Victoria Charlotte (Storey) Mollins and her adopted parents Rev. R.H. Nicholson and Eva (Porter) Nicholson. Family will receive friends at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, New Brunswick on Saturday, February 19th, 2005 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Lions service will be held on Saturday evening at 6:45 pm at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2005 at 2 pm from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel with Rev. Sheila McCrea and The Ven. John Shape officiating. A reception to follow the service in the fireside room. Honorary Pallbearers will be Doug Belyea, Lloyd Hetherington, Terry Richard, Gordon Green, Garfield Wilkins and Fred Johnston.
