Leah Turner (née Reid) November 12, 1923 - February 18, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) TURNER (Reid), Leah - 81, Halifax, passed away peacefully Friday, February 18, 2005, in New Halifax Infirmary, QEII, after a brief illness. Born in Sunnyside, NL, on November 12, 1923, she was a daughter of the late William and Josephine (Penny) Reid. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Tom Turner; daughters, Marilyn (Steve) Mills, Deborah (Rick) Richard and Teresa (Barry) Grant; brother, Holomew Reid; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was devoted to her family, especially her children. Leah was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, who will be dearly missed by all. She was a faithful and actively involved member of West End Baptist Church, Halifax. She was predeceased by daughter, Judith, as well as seven brothers and two sisters. Cremation has taken place. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Memorial service will be Monday, February 21, at 11 a.m. in West End Baptist Church, Rev. Jerome MacDonald officiating. Reception will be held in the church. Private family burial in Oakridge Memory Gardens.
