Betty May Gibbon (née Berry) September 17, 1919 - February 17, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Sands Funeral Chapel (Duncan) Passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 17, 2005 at Acacia Ty Mawr, Shawnigan Lake. Predeceased by her loving husband Colin; brothers Lesley and Godfrey; and son-in-law Peter. Survived by daughter Jennifer, son Peter, grandchildren Sara and David, and step-granddaughter Donna. Betty served in the WRAF during WWII. She married Colin and raised 2 children. She left for Canada when Colin died and started a new life at age 70. She made many new friends and joined various community groups. Always energetic and loving, Betty never had a bad word to say about anyone. Special thanks to Acacia and Cowichan Lodge for their wonderful care. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Memorial Service will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel, 187 Trunk Road, Duncan, BC on Friday, March 18, 2005 at 12:00 p.m. Reception to follow in Chemainus. Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made to any Children’s Charity or the CNIB, 2340 Richmond Avenue, Victoria, BC V8R 4R9
