William August Hebert AMHERST, NS - William August Hebert, age 54, of Amherst, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2005. Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Henry and Dorothy (Evans) Hebert.He served in the Royal Canadian Navy for three years. Bill worked for Canada Post in Amherst for several years and later was a Community Health Worker for Addiction Services where he touched many hearts and helped many people. He was on the regional board for Local 93 of NSGEU. Bill was a member of AA for over 26 years. He was very active in his family geneology and was involved with the organizing committee of the Hebert family reunion in 2004. He was manager of the Midget "A" Thunders of Cumberland; he loved boating, fishing and golfing. Bill is survived by his wife, the former Susan Irving; one son, Derek Hebert at home; two daughters, Shannon (Kris) Hebert of Edmonton, Alberta, and Krista Hebert of Moncton; two stepsons, Shannon Cameron and Justin (Deanna) Cameron, both of Riverview, N.B.; one brother, Donnie (Linda) Hebert of Riverview; and one sister, Pat (Lloyd) Gilroy of Amherst; several nieces and nephews. His remains are resting at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church Street, Amherst, N.S. (667-9906) with visiting on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m with parish prayers at 8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. from St. Charles Roman Catholic Church, Amherst with Father Vernon Driscoll and Father David MacDonald officiating. Interment will take place in the spring in the St. CharlesNativity Cemetery, Amherst.
