Helen Mae Beazley (née Pitcher) March 21, 1921 - February 22, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) BEAZLEY, Helen Mae - 83, Halifax, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, February 22, 2005, in Melville Lodge. Born March 21, 1921, in Wansworth, NL, she was a daughter of the late James Newport and Charlotte Jane (Hodder) Pitcher. She was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces for three years. The uniform she so proudly wore continues to be on display in the museum in Burin, NL. She was an active member of the United Church and gave years of support to the UCW. She enjoyed doing various kinds of needlework projects and took great pride in her home. Her memory will live on in the many family heirlooms she has created for us. She is survived by her husband, George; daughter, Sharon (Ted) Stevens, Chester; son, Leonard (Linda), Augusta, Ga.; grandchildren, Shelly, Derek, and Jerry; great-grandchildren, Emma, Olive, Grace, and Aaron. She was predeceased by sisters, Maud, Jennie, Beulah; brothers, George and James. Arrangements are entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax, where visitation will be held today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place in Edgewood United Church, Halifax, on Thursday, February 24, at 2 p.m., Rev. Diane MacVicar officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Burial in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville. Family flowers only. Donations in Helen's memory to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia would be greatly appreciated.
