Born on September 2, 1947, in Rencontre West, NL, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Catherine (Gosney) Symes. She leaves to mourn the love of her life, husband, Tom; son, Michael Edward, Toronto; daughter, Jennifer Kathleen, son-in-law, Bob Viel, darling granddaughter, Gabriella Viel, all of Toronto; brother, George and sister-in-law, Janet Symes, Lower Sackville; sister, Stella and brother-in-law, Douglas Holmes, Mount Uniake; sister-in-law, Ada and brother-in-law, David Heatherington, Dartmouth; many nieces and nephews; her lifelong friend and walking partner, Wannita Bowles; many friends at Zellers Store 455, Bedford, where she worked for many years and her Mother's Union family at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church. She was predeceased by infant twin sons and her brother, Arthur Symes Jr. Arrangements are entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville, where visitation will be held today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Monday, February 28, at 2 p.m. in St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Lower Sackville, Rev. Ron Cutler and Rev. Gloria Lee officiating. Burial in St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church Cemetery. Reception to follow in church hall. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
