HARRON, R. James (Jim) Passed away peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound, Ontario, on February 7, 2005 in his 88th year. Survived by his wife D. Josephine Harron, (nee Cruickshank) of Owen Sound and sons J. Beverley Harron of Arnprior, Brian Harron and his wife Barbara of Arnprior, Gerald Harron and his wife Carol of Mississauga. Grandfather to Dr. Christine Harron (Neil Wilson), Geoffrey Harron, Susan Anastasopoulos (Jim), Jamie Harron (Angela). Great-grandfather to Emma, Aidan, Connor and Noah. Predeceased by his parents Robert A. Harron and Louella Matilda Nickason, his brother William (Bill) Harron and sister Margaret Hall. Born and raised in Arran Township, Jim moved to Ottawa in 1941 where he was employed by the National Research Council of Canada for 33 years. An avid fisherman and ham radio operator, he was an active member of the Georgian Bay Amateur Radio Club. Known for his friendliness and sense of humour, Jim will be sadly missed by family, friends and numerous nieces and nephews. Service for R. James Harron will be held in the Funeral Chapel of Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, Ont. at 1:00 p.m. on February 10, 2005. Visitation will be from noon to 1:00 p.m. before the service. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Owen Sound. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre Foundation, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
