FILIPKOWSKI, Jean Retired Health Canada (B.A., M.L.S., Former W.R.E.N.) Peacefully in hospital, Almonte, Ontario on Monday, February 7, 2005 at age 84. Jean Douglass, beloved mother of Peter (Joy), Bette-Jane, Penny, Gerald, Michael, Robert (Karen), John and June. Predeceased by a daughter Susan. Cherished grandma of Andrew, Wendy, Filip, Stuart, Cherie and Ben. Survived by her former husband Roman and by son-in-law Chris Jermyn. Jean will be remembered for her love of travel, nature and gardening. She gave much of herself to all, including volunteering in many ways. Friends may call at the Kerry Funeral Home, 154 Elgin Street, Almonte for visiting on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Thence to rest in the Almonte United Church on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until time of Funeral Service at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Ken Robinson officiating. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations made in memory of Jean to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Almonte General Hospital/Fairview Manor Foundation would be appreciated.
