Geoffrey Standish LESTER

LESTER, Geoffrey Standish On Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, in his 58th year. Son of Terence James Lester and Amy Jean Lester (nee Bennett). Beloved husband of Lynn Jamieson. Devoted father of Amy and step-father to Matthew Clark (Heidi) and Andrew Clark (Susan). A Barrister and native son of Australia, Geoff is survived by his elder brother Richard Lester (Lyn) and sister Alison Main (Geoff). He will be fondly remembered by Marion Jamieson, Judith Salley, Ruth Jamieson, Bruce Jamieson, and Nancy Jamieson (Bruce Anderson). He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews, Adrian, Stuart and Russell Lester; Richard Main; Gillian and Pam Salley; Jean and Anna Taylor; Alexander Jamieson; Kate Purchase and Molly Anderson and his step-grandchildren Ella Clark and Spencer Clark. Geoff possessed a brilliant mind, a ready wit and a buoyant sense of humour as well as a gift for friendship. His family and his many friends and colleagues feel his loss deeply. Funeral Services will be held at St. Matthias Anglican Church, 555 Parkdale Avenue, on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at 2 p.m. Private cremation. Arrangements in the care of the Central Chapel of Hulse and Playfair & McGarry. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
