McCAGG, John Darrell Long time employee of Drummond Fuels Peacefully, Sunday, February 20, 2005, with family by his side at the age of 72. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy (nee Rafter). Devoted father of Darrell (Vivian) and Rick (Peggy) and special father to Peggy, Patsy, Tracey and Rob Froome and Cathy Ashe (Greg). Grandpa will be lovingly remembered by Dana (Kevin Taylor) and Crystal, Kevin and Erin, Robbie and Xavier (Joey), Matthew, Allanah, and great-grandson Benjamin. He is survived by his sisters and brother; Dorie Palen (Frank) of Toronto, Maureen Kirshner (George) and Carol Thompson (Doug) and Les McCagg (Jen) all of Ottawa and many nieces and nephews. John will be forever remembered for his generosity, razor wit, sharp tongue, and never suffering fools lightly. John will join Dorothy at Capital Memorial Gardens; united once again...heaven bound. A special thanks to the kind and devoted nurses and palliative care staff of the 6th floor of the Ottawa General Hospital. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 1255 Walkley Road (east of Bank) Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. A Service in Memory of John will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday at 11 a.m. In memoriam donations to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation - General Campus Palliative Care Unit or the Canadian Cancer Society appreciated.
