STOCKTON, Alan. Peacefully at the Rutland Regional Medical Hospital, Rutland, Vermont, on Wednesday, February 23, 2005. Cherished husband of Helen (nee Charette). Beloved father of Diane (James Breese), Joanne (Matthew Valerio) and Jennifer (David Giancola). Adored "Pop-pop" of Victoria and Timothy Breese; Alyssa, Olivia, Isabel and Joseph Valerio; Adam and Lauren Giancola. Dear brother of Patricia (Kevin Browne), Eric Stockton (Muriel) and the late Barbara (Gerard Belanger). Dear brother-in-law of Shirley and Brian Townsley, Frances and Daniel Phelan. Devoted uncle of many nephews and nieces. Will be missed by close friends and colleagues. Alan spent many years in the field of education in Montreal as a teacher, principal and administrator. He retired from Saint Michael's College, Vermont, in 1994, where he was a professor in the faculty of education. A funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, February 26, 1 p.m. at St. Peter's Church, Rutland, Vermont. There will be no prior visitation.
