JENSEN, FRANCES IRENE Frances Irene Jensen-82, Parkstone Enhanced Care, Halifax, passed away peacefully Monday February 28, 2005, with her family at her bedside. Born on Tancook Island, Lunenburg County, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Verna (Baker) Young. She was predeceased by her husband Jens Christian Jensen. Until the late 1970's she lived in North End Halifax and was a charter member of Mulgrave Park Baptist Church, and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary White Ensign Branch 129. In the 1980's Frances and Jens lived in Burton, NB, with son Ernest and his family and attended Oromocto Baptist Church. In the late 1990's they all moved to Hatchet Lake, NS. Frances was devoted to the well being of her extended family. She loved large family gatherings. She cared deeply for her pets and enjoyed reading her bible. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, embroidery and writing letters. She especially loved "all things Christmas". Over the last few years she enjoyed trips from Alaska to California, as well as a special visit in 2003 to the home of her sister Jenny and family in Virginia. After moving to Garden Court, Parkstone Enhanced Care, in August 2003, she appreciated the staff's special kindnesses, the musical and social gatherings, new friends Shirley Wambolt and Dorothy Archibald, and visits from old friends, family (especially the "little ones") and family pets Bear and Angie. She is survived by her sons Ernest (Jean) Jensen, Gregory; "special sons" Al Ryan and Ron Smith; daughters Donna (Henry) Marchand, Deborah (Bernard) Rogers; sisters Genevieve "Jenny" Ewing, Shirley (Rex) Lane; grandchildren; great grandchildren; aunt Hilda Wilson, nieces; nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Road Halifax. Funeral Service will be held at Mulgrave Park Baptist Church on Thursday March 3, 2005 at 11 AM, Pastor Brian Keezer officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Family flowers only. Donations in her name may be made to Mulgrave Park Baptist, the Red Cross or the SPCA. 3/8I have slipped the surly bonds of earth and touched the face of God3/8
