Lester Frederick MITCHELL

Mr. Lester Frederick Mitchell August 31, 1916 - February 23, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Richmond Funeral Home Passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2005, in Powell River, BC. Predeceased by his loving wife, Dorothy in 1999. Born August 31, 1916 to a pioneer Richmond family. Lester grew up on Mitchell and Lulu Islands. In 1937 he married Dorthy Martin and they lived and raised their family in East Richmond. Les and Dorothy moved to Powell River in 1975, retiring on the waterfront in Jervis Inlet. Lester is survived by sons, Larry, Monty and Randy and their daughter Renae; daughters-in-law Loise (Cashin), Mary-Ann (Uppgard), Sharon (Boor), and son-in-law Robin Marshall; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a life-time's worth of old and new friends. Lester was also predeceased by his parents George Alexander Mtchel and Katie Berry (Nielson); brothers Newman and Melvin; and by his first son, Murray, who passed away in 1940. A Funeral Servicew ill be held on Monday, March 7, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Richmond Funeral Home, 8420 Cambie Rd., Followed by interment at Mountain View Cemetery, Fraser St., Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. We all miss him.
