GILLILAND, RUSSELL IVAN - The death of Russell Ivan Gilliland of Saint John, NB, husband of the late Alice (Thorne) Gilliland, occurred on Saturday, March 5, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Reids Point, NB a son of the late Arnold and Clara (Saunders) Gilliland, Russell had been employed as a mechanic and was a former member of the Rhythm Ramblers. Survived by one son, Gerry (Sharon) Gilliland of Rothesay, NB; one daughter, Terreena Gilliland of Sussex, NB; three grandchildren, Jeff (Claire), Mark and Shane Gilliland; two great-grandchildren, Evan and Kara. Predeceased by brothers, Jimmy and Oliver Gilliland, George and Nicky Vallis; sisters, Ann Ashford and Margaret Thomas. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at 2:15 pm with cremation following.
