Laurie "Lollie" Cain January 27, 1944 - March 04, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) CAIN, Laurie "Lollie" - 61, North Preston, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2005, surrounded by his family in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born January 27, in North Preston, he was a son of the late Harold and Mildred (Downey) Cain. He was a member of Saint Thomas United Baptist Church and a member of the Men's Brotherhood. Lollie was employed by Lendoff Properties for several years. He enjoyed listening to music, playing checkers, and being in the company of family and friends. He is survived by his wife Lavice (Slawter); daughters, Natalie, Nardine, Dartmouth; Laurie "Pebbles", North Preston; Bernadine, Brenna, Montreal; sons, Lloyd Jr., Toronto; Jamel, Dartmouth; brothers, Wiley (Lillian), Elmer (Opal), Dartmouth; Glenn (Nadine), Edward, North Preston; Merlin (Shirley), Toronto; sisters, Ruby, Myrna, Viola, Vivian, all of North Preston; Shirley (Clary), Toronto; foster sisters, Linda (Rodrick), North Preston; Coreen, Richmond Hill; foster brothers, Donny, Toronto; Danny, Vincent, North Preston; Godchildren, Belinda, Cynthia, Lolita, Jerome "Clay", Adam; 12 grandchildren. He was predeceased by sister, Irene; brother, Harold Jr.; daughter, Lori. Visitation will be held today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Saint Thomas United Baptist Church, North Preston, where funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Wallace Smith officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Special thanks to all the doctors and nurses in Dartmouth General Hospital.
