Violet Victoria Newsom June 08, 1913 - March 08, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Campbell's Funeral Home Viloet Victoria Newsom (Goodwin) age 91 of Amherst passed away on Tuesday March 8, 2005 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Center, Upper Nappan. Born at Baie Verte Road, Port Elgin New Brunswick, she was a daughter of the late Marcus and Maude Goodwin. Violet resided at Victoria Manor for the last four years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing a good game of bridge with her friends, and spending time at her cottage with her husband and her family. She is survived by one son Harry Newsom of Amherst, one granddaughter Patti (Jim) Brown and one grandson David (Janet) Halliday both of Alberta; and five great grandchildren. Vilolet was predeceased by her husband Hance, daughter June Halliday, sister Vera Lewis, half brother George Powell, and two half sisters Ina Greeno and Eva Mason. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A graveside service for friends and family will take place in the spring in the Amherst Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.
