YOUNG HONG 1938 - 2005 Hong - It is with sadness that the family of Mr. Young Hong announces his sudden passing at his residence on Sunday, February 20, 2005 at the age of 67 years. Mr. Hong was predeceased by his parents Wallace and Wei King Hong and daughter Cynthia. He is survived by his daughters Rebecca and Kimberley, son Mark, granddaughter Sophie, brother Henry (Rena) Hong and sisters Gloria (Mike) Fong and Jane Hong. Mr. Hong was an active member of the community. He was a real estate broker in the area for over 25 years, past president and member of the Rotary Club for more than 30 years and a Kirkland Lake town councillor. He loved sports. You could always find him at the tennis courts in the summer and at the high school gym playing badminton in the winter. He not only played these sports but most often was an organizing member. For a period of time he was also very involved in local hockey. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Monette and French Funeral Home on Friday, February 25, 2005 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 26, 2005 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Donations in Young’s memory may be made to the Kirkland Lake and District United Way (P.O. Box 313, Kirkland Lake, ON P2N 3H7) in lieu of flowers.
