HAIGHT, Francis William Veteran of WWII Peacefully, at KGH, with his family by his side, on March 16th, 2005, in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Norma (Bouchard) Haight, loving father of Sandra and John Mercer, Debbie and Ross Pettigrew (Petrolia), Francis and Lorie Haight (Petrolia), Tim and Leigh Haight (Australia), Jennifer and Dave Topley (Toronto), Ken Haight and Tracey Hart (Forest). Deeply missed by 19 grandchildren (Derek, Ryan, Dana, Francis, Matt, Anita, D'Arcy, Sonny, Alex, Isaac, C hristopher, Karra, Tim, Chad, Jesse, Max, Dillon, Minia, Devon) and 2 great grandchildren (Kiren and MacKenzie). Beloved brother of Margaret Watson, predeceased by brother Bill Haight and sister Dolly Thomas. Memorial service to be held at Holy Name Church, Kingston Mills, (Celebrant, Father Tim Shea) on Friday, March 18th at 2 p.m. Francis will be remembered as being a quiet and dignified gentleman with a sharp sense of humour, but not as sharp as the knife in his boot. Born in Sarnia, Ontario to William and Minia Haight. Francis worked as a commercial fisherman with his father on Lake Huron. Served as a Trooper with the Tank Corp in the Trois Riviere Regiment. He sailed the Great Lakes as a Wheelsman for the Canada Steamships until he met his bride, Norma, and had six children. Retired from Shell Oil Refinery after 33 years of dedicated service. Francis and Norma settled in the Kingston area on Loughborough Lake and have enjoyed visits from their family and friends over the years.
