Karolyn B. Babin Saturday, March 12, 2005 at approximately 3pm, Karolyn Beth Babin, 44, of Moncton died of internal injuries as a result of a tragic snowmobile accident near their families cabin just west of Bathurst. Karolyn and her husband, Peter, and children Kathleen and Scott were on a relaxing vacation at the family cabin. Karolyn was a loving wife and mother who always gave to others before herself; she attended the majority of her children's many school and sporting events, and was their greatest supporter. A life long passion to teach allowed her to help challenge kids in a private school in Toronto to most recently working with children at Salisbury Elementary on literacy skills. Her friends were important to her and she enjoyed finding the unique gift or card that reminded them that she was always thinking of them even with today's busy lives. This unfortunate accident has caused her love of traveling to a rustic cabin or a hotel in tropical climate to be carried on by her husband and family with her memories close by. Karolyn taught school at Salisbury Elementary with over 10 years service, she was a graduate of Harrison Trimble High School and UNB Fredericton campus. She was a member of West Lane Baptist Church and was a volunteer for NB Heart and Stroke. Born in Moncton she was the daughter of John (Jack) and Nadine (Cunningham) Carleton. Besides her parents, Karolyn will be sadly missed by her husband, Peter; children, Kathleen and Scott, at home; sister, Kim Smart (Paul), Moncton; twin brothers, Craig Carleton (Kathy), Bathurst and Jeffrey Carleton (Mary Jane), Fredericton; several nieces and nephews. Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), Thursday 7 to 9pm. Funeral Service at West Lane Baptist Church Friday, March 18, 2005, 11am; Pastor Scott Ryder officiating. Reception in the Church Hall following the service. In Karolyn's memory donations to NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or memorial of choice would be appreciated. A special thanks goes out to the staff and guests at Governors Lodge who helped Karolyn and her family. www.fergusonknowlesfh.com [Times & Transcript]
