SHANNON, MRS. EVELYN MARY - The death of Mrs. Evelyn Mary Shannon, wife of the late Mark Shannon, occurred on Tuesday March 15, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1920 in Stephenville, NF she was the daughter of the late William and Cecilia (Gordon) Madore. Evelyn was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 63; she was an avid bingo and dart player. She is survived by her loving children, three sons William (Bonnie) of St. Martins, Patrick (Shirley) of Saint John and Mark (Karen) of St. Martins; six daughters Marie Kindred of Saint John, Carole Bennett (Alfie) of England, Elaine Hall of Saint John, Mary Richard (Robert) of Saint John, Cathy Gillcrist (Hal) of St. Martins and Susan Proctor (John) of St. Martins; one brother Richard Madore of Boston, Mass; three sisters Edna Lavigne (Victor) of St. Martins, Barbara Bouchie of Saint John and Margaret Dawson (Edward) of Saint John; 25 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by granddaughter Tammy Shannon. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Wednesday 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Visitations will also take place at St. William's Church, St. Martins on Friday 10-11 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. William's Church, St. Martins on Friday March 18, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place in St. Williams Cemetery.
