John T. LINIHAN

John T. Linihan It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John (Jack) T. Linihan, 72, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, whose courageous battle with cancer has come to a peaceful end in the presence of his loving family at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, March 18, 2005. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Edward (Ted) Linihan and Florence Redman. Jack attended St. Patrick's Boys School and St. Mary's University, Halifax. He was a former employee of the Naval Armament Depot in Dartmouth, before moving to Moncton and retiring from the C.N.R. (1993). He was a life member of the I.A.M. and a former member of the Royal Canadian Legion Moncton Branch #6. Jack loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting at his camp in CherryVale and looking forward to his summers with his family at his cottage in Linden, NS. Jack will be sadly missed by his wife of 49 years, Donna (Rodgers); daughters, Sharon Robertson (Brett), Fredericton, Susan Buchanan (David), Shelly Furze (Glenn), Moncton; one son, Tom (Donna), Amherst; grandchildren, Sarah, Andrew, Jennifer, Jason, Jerad, Shane, Shannon, Jonathan, Brooke; great granddaughter, Taylor. Predeceased by his sister, Ruth Cunningham, Halifax; father-in-law, Dennis Rodgers; and nephews, Billy Moore and Kyle Rodgers, Dartmouth. Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel Monday, March 21, 2005, 11am. Reception following the service. Interment, Mount Hermon Cemetery, Dartmouth at a later date.
