FENNELL, Helen Elizabeth, At the Hotel Dieu Hospital, on Monday, March 14, 2005, in her 86th year. She is predeceased by her husband Art (1984) and her brother Blake (1981). She will be truly missed by her son Dean, sister Lorna Barnes, brother Roy Steadman and many nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Thorold High School and some years later became secretary to Mr. Fred Harvie at the school. Although Helen had been in failing health in recent years, there were many years when she enjoyed volunteering in many organizations. She was a lifelong member of Trinity United Church and has served as Past President of the Niagara Presbyterial of the U.C.W. She served on the Board of the Ina Grafton Gage Home, as well as on the Board of Albrigh t Manor in Beamsville. She was a member of the Cancer Society and a volunteer with the Red Cross blood clinics in the past. She was also the recipient of the Canada Volunteer award, the Corporation City of Thorold "Distinguished Citizen Award" (1986) and the Thorold Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement Award (1996). Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service to celebrate Helen's life will be held at Trinity United Church, 15 Pine St. S., Thorold on Friday, March 18th at 3:00 p.m. If so de sired, donations to the Trinity United Church or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family and may be made through the KARL A.
