James Yarn August 14, 1923 - March 20, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) YARN, James - 81, Halifax, passed away March 20, 2005, at home. Born in Mose Ambrose, NL, he was a faithful son of the late William and Annie (Fiander) Yarn. He served during the Second World War with the Royal Navy. He also sailed in the Merchant Navy for a number of years. He then worked at the Halifax Naval Dockyard as a Master of Harbor Craft Boats and retired in 1981. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, a 50 year Jewel member of the Masonic Order, the Duke of Kent AF & AM Lodge, and a member of the Philae Temple. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Blanche; son, Harold (Rita); his daughter, Mary (Len); sister, Elizabeth; brother, Roy; and his pride and joy, grandchildren, Danielle, Nicole, Nicholas, Nathaniel, and Kathryn. No visitation by request. A memorial service will be held in St. John's Anglican Church, Dutch Village Road at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, Rev. Randy Townsend officiating. A reception will follow in the church. Interment in Oakridge Memorial Gardens, Old Sackville Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Philae Temple Crippled Children Fund.
